ECOSCREED
PRIMER AP1000
WATER
DISPERSIBLE POLYMER PRIMER
Description
ECOSCREED AP1000 Primer is a milky white
dispersion of synthetic polymer dispersion in a water
base, designed to give maximum penetration into the
substrate for enhanced bond. ECOSCREED Primer AP1000
has been specially formulated to be used with ECOSCREED
cementitious materials and is available in 10 or 25
litre containers and 1 tonne IBC's.
Benefits
- Water based, non toxic and safe to use
- Provides excellent adhesion on a wide range of substrates
- Ensures enhanced bond strength
- Suitable for use with all bonded ECOSCREED cementitious
products
- Prevents air problems that can spoil the finish
of pumpable screeds
Substrate
Preparation
Substrates
should be hard, sound and free from dirt, dust, grease,
paint, plaster laitance and other contaminants which
could provide a barrier to adhesion. Where the substrate
has been subject to chemical contamination then advice
should be sought from the ECOSCREED Technical Department.
The preparation of the substrate by mechanical methods
such as shotblasting or scabbling is recognized as
being the most effective way to provide a good mechanical
key prior to applying cementitious bonded screeds.
Primer
Appilaction
A
priming system is recommended as follows:-
Sealing/
Bonding Coat : 1part primer to 2 parts
water (allow to fully dry)
Particularly
absorbent or porous surfaces may require a further
sealing/bonding coat to prevent air rising from the
substrate and affecting the final finish in pumped
screeds. ECOSCREED AP1000 Primer should only be applied
with a soft broom ensuring that all puddles, ponding
and drips are fully brushed out prior to screeding
or tiling applications. Allow the primer to fully
dry.
Properties
Appearance : Milky
white liquid MFT : 3%
Specific Gravity
: 1.03 kg per litre Solids content : 50%

ECOSCREED
EPOXY DPM
SOLVENT
FREE EPOXY DAMP PROOF MEMBRANE
Description
ECOSCREED Epoxy DPM is a two component solvent free
epoxy resin based damp proof membrane specifically
designed as a residual moisture suppressant for concrete
to allow the early installation of moisture sensitive
flooring in fastrack building programmes. One or two
coats may be applied depending on the degree of dampness
present in the sub-floor. The product is available
in grey and red colours to allow control of uniform
coverage.
Design
Use
As a surface damp-proof membrane.
As a moisture suppressant on concrete and cementitious
screeds
As damp tolerant primer for concrete and resin screeds.
Benefits
- Provides surface damp-proof membrane
- Coloured to monitor progress
- Low viscosity, easily applied
- Excellent adhesion
- Low temperature cure
- Solvent free, low odour
- Allows Rapid 24 laying of floor coverings to power
floated concrete.

Susbtrate
Preparation
ECOSCREED Epoxy DPM can be applied to concrete
surfaces that are hard, sound and free from dirt,
dust, oil, grease, paint, plaster, laitance or other
contaminants which could act as a barrier to adhesion.
Where the floor has been contaminated by chemicals
or mineral acids, the specific advice of the ECOSCREED
Technical Department should be sought on 0836 582
033 or 01372 842 102. The preparation of substrates
by mechanical methods such as shotblasting , scabbling
or diamond grinding are considered the most effective
means of providing a suitable mechanical key. Moisture
testing of the substrate in accordance with BS8203
shall be carried out on new concrete floors. A sub-floor
moisture reading of 95%RH can be accommodated by ECOSCREED
Epoxy DPM. If the readings exceed this figure, then
the floor must be allowed to dry out further.
Mixing
Pour the contents of the CURING AGENT component
into the BASE container and thoroughly mix together
by mechanical means until a uniform colour and consistency
is achieved.
NB: Larger packs may be site batched using a mix ration
of 2 parts by volume BASE to 1 part by volume CURING
AGENT.
Application
Apply a first coat of ECOSCREED Epoxy DPM, RED, by
brush, roller or airless spray, to the prepared substrate
at a nominal rate of 3 Sq.m/Kg. Within 24 hours apply
a coat of Grey material at a nominal rate of 4 Sq.m/Kg
and 'blind' out with an appropriate 16/30's silica
sand. Excess sand may be swept or vacuumed from the
surface following a minimum of 12 hours @ 20ºC
or 24 hours @ 10ºC.
Packaging
ECOSCREED Epoxy DPM is available in 15Kg
pack sizes.
Storage
& Shelf Life
Store in dry conditions at temperatures
between 10ºC and 25ºC. Do NOT expose to
freezing.
Minumum shelf life of 12 months when stored in accordance
with rccommendations.
Limitations
Do not apply at temperatures below 2ºC
Do not apply on surfaces which have condensation or
standing water
Health
& Safety
Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wear protective
gloves, goggles and overalls during use. Wash off
with soap and water if the material comes into contact
with the skin.
